Zoës Kitchen, a national brand restaurant chain with over 250 locations, approached ResultStack with a vision to build a new, proprietary digital infrastructure. From the consumer-facing mobile app and website to the backend online ordering, stored value and loyalty systems, ResultStack was involved in every aspect of the transformation. Following roll-out of its new platform, Zoës ranking in the Gartner L2 Digital IQ Report was up more than 50%, which is the highest year-over-year improvement Gartner has ever recorded. They now rank #36 on the list of top national brands for their digital solutions.

Problem

Although Zoës Kitchen had started launching an initial version of online ordering and a customer loyalty program, adoption was low, numerous websites and technologies were being used and custom enhancements to support business goals were difficult to achieve. Zoës engaged with ResultStack to completely transform its digital platform and architect a solution could support multiple points of consumer and business interaction while increasing adopting and online sales.

Process

Working closely with multiple teams at Zoës Kitchen - including marketing, IT and C-Suite, ResultStack instituted a phased development process that allowed for the rapid transformation of Zoës digital infrastructure, while providing consumers easy-to-use platforms of mobile and web ordering.

Due to the phased development approach, ResultStack was able to constantly adjust to changes in priorities during the development process. Initial features for user registration and authentication, location and menu management, and online ordering through an integration with the existing point-of-sale provider were quickly executed to support both the consumer website and mobile app. Additionally, ResultStack developed and deployed a proprietary customer loyalty program, promotions and rewards platform, a stored value / gift card system, and integration with a multi-channel communication platform.

Results
