Flying Tee

Located on Tulsa’s riverfront, FlyingTee is a transformative 55,000 sq. ft. entertainment facility. Promising the industry’s most advanced ball tracking technology and the ability to play 18 PGA courses, FlyingTee approached ResultStack with an incredibly compressed deadline and high expectations after another vendor failed to deliver. ResultStack allowed the facility to open on time with industry-leading bay point-of-sale systems, online customer portals, reservation/bay management systems, and financial reporting integration.

Problem

With construction already underway and a previous software vendor unable to deliver, FlyingTee approached ResultStack with both an incredibly compressed deadline and the high expectations of completing what was promised as the industry’s most innovative golf experience. In addition to the real time software expectations, FlyingTee was searching for a development company with a proven process of quick deployment, a high degree of flexibility and the project management and technical understanding to integrate with a variety of software and hardware systems.

Process

By using value stream development process, our unique process to rapidly prototype and ultimately deploy working software, ResultStack was able to identify the most urgent software functionality and features and validate they fulfilled the business need without interrupting the development process. Our value stream development process works to optimize the entire software process of concept to cash - streamlining everything from identifying the need to releasing the working software for customers to use.

Working closely with James Vollbrecht, FlyingTee’s co-founder and chief technology officer, ResultStack identified the most valuable and urgent features and quickly deployed prototypes to ensure the software met the business need. While testing and collecting feedback, development continued in order of priority. This allowed a dynamic respond to customer feedback and business priorities while continuing rapid deployment of core functionality. By iterating through the development process, ResultStack was able to deliver valuable finished software quickly - including multiple releases a day.

Results

Despite being 8 months behind in its development timetable, FlyingTee was able to open its doors with fully functional software when construction was completed in June 2016.
